North Vancouver’s Capilano Mall is located on Marine Drive, and pretty much all of its stores is on a single level according to the directory. There are additional floors above that house some of the same building, but those area are for appointments, classes, and other services. You can check out the map to tell them apart before choosing which entrance or escalator to take.
When you know the name of the store, use the search box in the top left corner. The search box will open the right floor and center the unit on the plan (faster than scrolling through four drawings). If you only know the type of errand you have, stick to one category in the sidebar. Units are separated by food, fashion, electronics, beauty, and services. So a phone counter does not dissapears into the restaurant list.
You’ll see a yellow shape that represents a short note about the unit. Read the note to see if it’s a place to book an appointment, browse, or eat. Up top on the right are the level buttons. These matter as some stores has moved to an upper floor. You won’t be able to walk around the main floor and locate a unit that has been relocated upstairs.

The shapes is tiny on a phone screen. Use the full screen button on the bottom right or the scroll wheel. This makes it easier to see which side of the building to go to. The big pin on the main floor is Walmart (it’s a good marker for other stops in the area). On which side is your second store? If it’s on the same side as Walmart, that’s your answer.
Food options include specialty food shops, bakeries, and sit-down restaurants, all of which is located down the hall. How long will each one take? Read the description first. Community services, therapy offices, and other stuff are on the higher levels. You’ll see search results for L2, L3, or L4 as the level of these places. It’s not a suggestion; it’s a direction. These won’t be visible if you go back down to the main floor. Think of them like different destinations with their own entry points.
When meeting people, specify which pin (and which level) you’re going to, since “inside Capilano” refers to several floors.
Where you park depends off traffic on Marine Drive. Before you park, look at where your destination is located on the main floor. If it’s located on one end, then an indoor walk is preferable than circling the parking lot twice. As the drawing indicates, two stops on opposite ends of the floor would of been far apart. To see just how far, use the full screen view.
Don’t go in the same door each time. If you’re going to shop at one end or visit an upstairs service, then start from the other end because that’s the longest way around. Look at the floor plan on your phone to see which side of the floor you need and which level to go to. That way you’ll know how to get around a place with shops and appointments on separate floors.
Hours can change (particularly during peak traffic times or holiday seasons), as do store leases. If it’s listed in the directory with a yellow shape, it means the unit is still listed. Verify the information about the business first. Next, use the short description, which side of the floor it is on, and the level to direct you to the appropriate stop.
